Seafret - Oceans

England duo Seafret gets emotional on their acoustic single "Oceans", off of their recently released EP of the same name. The twosome express feelings about a love that is so deep, but at the same time, nowhere near perfect. The track starts with somber guitar chords and the emotive, gut wrenching, opening line, Yeah I want you, and nothing comes close, to the way that I need you. I've been in the same boat before and it's a feeling that is very strong, almost scary at times. I'm definitely adding this to my rainy day, lay in bed, in my feelings playlist. Dive into the folk masterpiece below.

CerAadi - Favorite Song

Drake sure knows how to get the attention of beautiful women. Over a sped up #Houstatlantavegas sample, Westcoast trio CerAadi turns up and shouts out their homies on the uptempo single "Favorite Song". The sisters take turns singing and rapping, while coming together on the hook with an infectious melody, sure to get any party started. Tell the DJ to play your new favorite jam.

Taylor Chanel ft. Yung - Side Chick

You're calling my phone, but it's four in the morning. Oh, how so many of us have been there before (it was five in the morning for me lol). LA native Taylor Chanel sings her heart out about being against the other woman title on her Imfamous produced song "Side Chick". Over lush piano chords and booming bass, the young beauty creates a very, very catchy hook that's hard to get out of your head. Yung (of Cali Swag District) feels indifferent, as he raps about not wanting feelings involved, only a physical interraction.  The video was shot over the weekend and should be arriving soon.

Reem Riches - Nasty

Westcoast rapper Reem Riches gets freaky on his new single "Nasty". Over a classic hip hop sample, Reem spits straight forward bars sexing a chick, while telling in the hook, babygirl I'm nasty I'll do anything to you, baby girl I'm nasty tell me what you want to do. It's a fun song and it'll get you in the mood to turn up (as does all DJ Mustard's affliliate's music). Listen to the SavRich ceo get explicit below.

Brittany B ft. Bonny Billionaire - Pull Up

There's a lot of guys tryna get my time, if you want it you can get it, baby I think you're my type. I've been waiting anxiously for this song to drop ever since I heard the snippet on IG. LA singer/songwriter Brittany B has worked with a lot of artists behind the scenes, but now it's her time to take center stage. On "Pull Up" (produced by BUTTANBIZKIT), Brittany flaunts around the club, putting her confindence to use while approaching a guy and assuring him that it's okay to leave with her. This girl has such a smooth, pretty tone that I'm in love with and she effivitely wrote a well structured Cali turn up style R&B song (most of them suck, especially female). Honestly, I get an updated 90's feel, with a splash of Kelly Rowland. Femcee Bonny Billionaire slides through with a cocky verse, adding just enough spice to keep your attention. "Pull Up" is pulled from Brittany B's EP, #LAGIRL, arriving February 14th. Bang a left and pull up below. Video coming soon!

Malachiae - 24s

If you came to ride with ya partna say wassup. I love Atlanta R&B and always have, from Ciara and Monica, to Jazze Pha and Lloyd. Jasper Cameron, one of my favorite producers that helped create the sound, introduces an artist that he's signed by the name of Malachiae. On "24s", the 19 year old singer flips TI's classic single of the same name into a bass heavy midtempo about chillin' with the homies and dreams of riding big. Look for some flawless falsetto towards the end of the track. Stream "24s" below.

Video: Krystal Klear ft Yasmin - One Night Only

Uk producer Krystal Klear links up with talented vocalist Yasmin on the 80's inspired "One Night Only". Over a funky, throwback bassline, and house sensibilities, Yasmin creates pretty harmonies as she pleads to be loved. If I closed my eyes I would think Pebbles was singing lol. Krystal Klear hardly appears in the colorful visual, but Yas makes up for it with cutesy choreography. Watch the 2015 disco party below.

Video: Maxine Ashley - Between You and I

Bronx singer Maxine Ashley has caught the attention of super producer Pharrell Williams with her ever changing look and soulful voice. The young creative teams up with Tragik to serve up a pink fantasy equipped with babydoll socks and a tatted love interest for her "Between You and I" video. Hands down I feel like this song could of came out in the early 00's and been a hit;very reminiscent of an early Ashanti. Maxine has a unique style that is punk, anime inspired, and edgy, which is completely different than the music she makes, but puts her in a league of her own. I appreciate the no f*cks given attitude and creative approach to her artistry, so lets hope her debut album will see her take her talents to the next level. "Between You and I" can be found on her #MoodSwings EP, available now.

Video: ASTR - Blue Hawaii

New York City duo ASTR have created a sound for themselves that includes the blending of Pop-Electronic and R&B. Their single "Blue Hawaii" is a testament to that; breezy composition and soulful vocals. Dawning different looks, including tennis wear and Miami Vice inspired garb, the group gets quirky against a multitude of green screen backdrops. I loved the old computer graphics and the simple fact that you could tell they had a lot of fun shooting. You can hear more from ASTR on their EP, #Varsity, out now. Escape reality below.

Preston Harris - Love Crazy

HS87 We The Plug..Preston Harris has put out an amazing record called "Love Crazy". The dysfunctional Hit-Boy produced track involves a lot of unorthodox sounds and melodies, creating a refreshing listening experience. The San Diego (my hometown whoop) native sings his way into a special lady's heart with lines such as, ooh baby have you ever had real love? ooh baby not the selfish, blind love. The musicality is so crazy on this track! I appreciate Preston for pushing boundaries, and even reintroducing love to male R&B. Look out for the surprise switch up midway through, showcasing a more tranquil, traditional side of Mr.Harris. I'm really excited that someone from Daygo is making great music, especially a singer. I rock with HS87 tough so I know he's going to do some really cool things with that whole camp. Hear Preston serenade below.

Pia Mia ft G Eazy - Fuck With You

Duct tape on a 40, feelin' good baby what it do?..Interscope Records signee Pia Mia drops the official version of her "Fuck With You" single ft Bay Area rapper G-Eazy. Over the Nic Nac produced banger, Pia lets a dude know that she's in lust and wants to f*ck with him. I already loved the westcoast thumper because of it's dark, memorable chords, and cocky, real life lyrics, but I can see how adding G-Eazy would open up a whole new audience for the rising Guamanian singer. The video is shot and Pia will be dancing, which I'm excited about. Get into one of my favorite new artists below.

Angel Gold - Can We

A family that makes music together..gets coin together. TY Dolla $ign's sister Angel Gold breaks out on her own with the new single "Can We". On the intimate bedroom number, Angel sings to her man about what she would like to do, cooing and seductively enticing him. I really enjoy the simplicity of the beat, and the melody in the hook is very sensual, giving bottle of wine grown and sexy. The Trev Case produced slow jam can be found on Angel's upcoming EP, #AfterHours. Make love below.

Video: Kieran Alleyne - Runnin' Low

Horns are the new trend I see. UK singer Kieran Alleyne busts a move underneath the city in his debut video "Runnin' Low". The westcoast influenced uptempo sees the lad praise a bad chick, who got it from the waist down. The track is catchy and falls in line with everything that's dominating urban radio, so it shouldn't be long before it catches. The visual is cool, and even though I would have preferred a bit more creativity or scenic changes, the choreography made up for it. Look out for his debut album coming soon.

Video: LoVel ft Nitty Scott - College

Harlem based singer LoVel represents for the young adults in his new video "College" ft female emcee Nitty Scott. The video starts off with him finding out what's going on for the night, and from there takes you through a typical college student night of girls and partying. The redlight scenes were perfect for the trippy, slow burning R&B number, as they created a sense of sensuality. I don't think many artists my age incorporate the school aspect into their music/videos, so it was refreshing to see someone engage in the college party life on camera. Nitty Scott comes in towards the end with an eclectic verse spittin', looked at my drink and he asked me the flavor..told him it taste like I'm calling you later. We've all had those nights. LoVel's #SomewhereSomeday project is dropping in March.Turn up.

Video: Tiara Thomas - Best Kept Secret

Looks like she's been in love now. Tiara Thomas drops a new video called "Best Kept Secrets" to hold us over until her debut album arrives. In the clip, the former Rico Love signed artist frolics in-between fresh linen and lights up a joint as she expresses her feelings about a down low relationship. I really enjoy Tiara's tone and the rawness of her lyrics; very relatable to my age group. Be sure to look out for her debut coming soon.

Video: Tiffany Evans - Baby Don't Go

It's here. Pint sized singer Tiffany Evans releases the video for her new single "Baby Don't Go" and it stars actor Columbus Short as the leading man. Tiff moves her feet in the dance heavy clip, walking away from her dude in the process. I really like it. I enjoy choreography in videos period, especially when it's smooth and executed well. Lil G was hittin' them Babygirl steps, swangin' lol. The R&B midtempo can be found on the singer's upcoming EP.

Tomi Jones - Groceries

I'm so surprised that I came across this singer again. I used to LOVE her single #LoveSong. Tomi Jones (formerly of girl group Missez) is returning to the scene as a solo artist with her 2014 gem "Groceries". On the mellow,neo-soul track, Tomi uses groceries as an excuse to have a man come over and help her out, if you know what I mean. I appreciate creative approaches to lyricism, and her silky voice will convince any guy to become an instant gentleman. Put some honey on your list and hear Tomi's instructions below.

Oso Ocean - Twerk Contest

I love to see people from hometown make moves and follow their dreams. San Diego rapper Oso Ocean debuts his new single "Twerk Contest" and it'll definitely have all the ladies shaking what their mama gave them. On the Aaliyah #RockTheBoat sampled song, Ocean spits bars about being a real n*gga while having chicks drop it low for him. The club banger is the hottest track I've heard from a San Diego artist in years, so hopefully the city gets behind it. Listen to The Youngkind emcee get live below. Available on iTunes now.

Ciara - I Bet

Go CiCi go CiCi go...one of my favorite singers and musical inspirations Ciara is back with "I Bet", the first single off of her sixth album #Jackie. On the Harmony Samuels produced cut, Ms. Harris lets her ex know (presumably her baby's father Future) that he's gonna regret leaving her. The R&B midtempo reminds us of an earlier time, when Ciara ruled the charts with her albums Goodies and The Evolution. A breakup always makes for great material, even though I feel as if this track would be better suited for an album cut rather than first single (I love the chorus and her tone is one of the best in the game). Ciara always has great, energetic videos with poppin' dancing, so hopefully the visual will take the song to another level. Either way, I'm excited for her new era. Listen to her emotional track below.

Ana Lou - On Fleek

Now I'm not the biggest fan of the popular term, on fleek, but I love a good, ratchet song, so I'll make an exception. Cali singer/rapper Ana Lou returns on her own (previously in girl group Babydollz) with her League Of Starz produced ode to being poppin', "On Fleek". The track has that club ready, young California sound that's dominating the airwaves right now, and she provides us with a catchy hook yelling out, I'm too fresh to stress bout a bummy n*gga..b*tch I'm on fleek! There's not a lot of females that are succeeding with the sound, so hopefully Ana Lou has some luck gaining traction. Get into the cocky joint below #ImPoppinAndTheyFlockin

Didda Joe - Cinderella

Indianapolis native Didda Joe has seemingly came out of nowhere with his fire R&B jam "Cinderella". He sings in a tone reminiscent of many 90s artists before him on the AyoTheProducer (Teairra Mari, Yung Berg) helmed cut. Say my name say my name say my name, all she really wanted was the money and the fame Didda croons, as he tries to get his point across to a superficial chick who only sees dollar signs and status when it comes to the type of men she entertains. He is currently working on a forthcoming EP called "1993, which is set to be released soon. Listen to this twist on the classic fairy tale below.

RJ & Choice ft. Terrace Martin - Do It

YG and DJ Mustard presents...RJ & Choice. The Pushaz Ink and 10 Summers rappers  have joined forces to debut a collaborative project called #RichOffMackin' (out now). The twosome rep the Westcoast on the primarily DJ Mustard produced set, bringing us back to the days of DJ Quick, mixed with their own animated flows. I enjoyed the mixtape overall, but one track in particular stood out to me."Do It" ft Terrace Martin is one of the smoother songs, dedicated to the females. She told me treat her friend right..I'm like yeah right is one of the more memorable lines, basically summing up the premise. The self-proclaimed macks inquire about sexual escapades they'd like to partake in with beautiful women, but that's as far as it goes. "Do It" is feel good and catchy, so it wouldn't be a surprise if it takes off by summer (I'll ride to it). Take a listen below.

Video: Carmen - Cold

One of my favorite artists is Cassie and the newest addition to the female Urban-Pop arena has a similar story that really interests me. Carmen has been putting her beauty to use over the years, enjoying a growing modeling career, but it's music that she has her sights set on. Debuting onto the scene with her impressive video "Cold",Carmen almost had me and many others guessing was she truly a new artist. I love fashion changes, and the young singer doesn't disappoint, with scene after scene of new looks (that pink suit though). Incorporating blocks of ice and a red light special really took the visual to creative heights, which isn't seen much in the industry today. Equipped with a dance routine,a Next #TooClose sample, and enough sass to fair well against the top dogs, "Cold" is a club hit waiting to happen. Watch the refreshing cut below.

Mixtape: Amir Obe - Detrooklyn

Gorgeous and Gangsta. Detroit born emcee Amir Obe dropped his official reintroduction mixtape "Detrooklyn" a few months ago to critical acclaim. I first discovered him on Twitter and followed because of his great fashion sense. A few people may know the rapper under a previous moniker #PhreshyDuzit, when he was dropping records and involved with Atlantic Records. Somewhere down the line things went left, but that didn't stop the young hopeful from crafting his own sound with producer NYLZ. "Detrookyln" sees Amir chronicle his split living in Detroit and Brooklyn, his burgeoning rap career, and of course..girls. The project gives me a lot of raw, real emotion, while also serving an abundance of swagger. Amir has a knack for vividly painting pictures with his detailed lyrics and putting them against NYLZ's cinematic backdrops. His mixed heritage and street appeal set the scene on the confident track #MyD, where he spews the line Last night I swear I met a angel, she asked me what I'm mixed with I said gorgeous and gangsta (my fav track). Other standouts include the warped self-reflection banger #HennessyBreath, the 90's inspired, smoking anthem #Drugs&Cam'ron, and an ode to his boomerang effect on women, #FeelIt. I like to see artists gradually come into their own and excel,so here's hoping Amir Obe gets the chance to share more with the world. Stream "Detrooklyn" below.

Chelsea - Kissin'

Teen singer Chelsea is charming her way to the top. The Atlanta native drops her bass heavy single "Kissin" and it is sure to have all the young girls making Instagram and Snapchat videos lipsynching along. I love the combination of sweet, subtle vocals, and hard hitting 808s, which this track has a lot of. Hear Chelsea missing her boo below.

Anthony Lewis ft TI - It's Not My Fault

Young LA singer Anthony Lewis returns with his new single "It's Not My Fault" ft TI. He first gained attention with last year's turnt up remake of #CandyRain, but he takes a more mellow, grown up approach on this new track. Over clanging drums, Anthony professes his admiration for a beautiful girl on the feel good R&B number. TI offers d*ck and bubblegum to his chick on his verse. Overall "Fault" is catchy and should properly showcase A.Lewis as his own artist, aside from his covers. Listen below.

BMACTHEQUEEN - Aware

You are now aware of the Queen. LA femcee BMACTHEQUEEN let's you know that she's harder than a lot of dudes, whilst reppin' her Hit Boy backed HS87 squad on her latest track "Aware".She gives us this classic Hip Hop style, with bar after bar just simply..going in.The beat change midway through was crazy! Very dark and almost sinister-like, which brought a lot of character to the Hit Boy produced song. I met her at a pool party before and she has a very fun, humble spirit. I hope that she makes it very far in this industry. Hear the Queen bless our presence below.

Sevyn Streeter ft. Chris Brown - Don't Kill The Fun

Let's be undeniable. Sevyn Streeter and Chris Brown cheers to the good life on the former's lead single from her debut album. "Don't Kill The Fun" starts off as a light, authentic nod to a jazzy hip hop number, but quickly comes the boomin' 808s that bring us back to the present time. Sevyn coos in a mellow tone, trying to convince the party poopers to shutup or go home. I like that she's not afraid to take risks musically and visually while also incorporating fresh writing which in turn, puts Ms.Streeter in a lane of her own. Having C Breezy as your boss and frequent collaborator doesn't hurt neither. 2013's #CallMeCrazyBut.. EP was a flawless R&B effort, so here's hoping her first album will deliver the goods. I'm looking forward to this video! "Don't Kill The Fun" is available on iTunes January 13th.

Album: Jazmine Sullivan - Reality Show

The big day is almost here. Celebrated vocalist Jazmine Sullivan has granted Complex to premiere her 3rd album "Reality Show" in it's entirety before it's release on January 13th via RCA Records. It's been a few years since her last outing, but I must say this is her most daring, experimental effort to date. Writing a majority of the set herself, she enlists producers Da Internz, Key Wane, DJ Dahi, and Salaam Remi (among others) to helm the sonics. A few standouts for me consists of the self-loving(or loathing, depending on listener) single #Mascara, the nostalgic 80's inspired #LetItBurn and #Stanley, and my personal favorite, the horn driven, ride or die anthem #BrandNew. Rich in vocal scruff, emotion, and enough groove to have the grown & sexy reminiscing on their childhood, the profanity laden album is great for all generations. Tune into Jazmine's reality show below.

Jacquees - One In A Million

Aaliyah proves to still have a huge impact on the music industry.Rich Gang singer Jacquees interpolates Babygirl's classic hook into his updated midtempo about having that one of a kind love. My love never stops, it keeps going till I drop..proclaims the Atlanta native. This one can be found on his latest mixtape release, #QueMix2 available now.

Troyboi ft Y.A.S - No Substitute

London births some of the most unique talent in the world. Producer Troyboi and singer Y.A.S team up for the electro-trap banger "No Substitute". Y.A.S makes it known that no matter who she chooses, they never compare to her former beau. The midtempo groove sees Troyboi experiment with different sounds that will no doubt have you nodding your head in approval. Take a listen below.

Nick&Navi - Stay

Everyone loves a set of twins. Nick & Navi (formerly Perfect Harmony) are reintroducing themselves with a new name, look, and sound. On their new single "Stay", the girls let their Jamaican roots fly on the Reggae inspired uptempo, equipped with pretty harmonies, an infectious tone, and even a Smokey Robinson and The Miracles #Cruisin' sample. I was first introduced to Nick & Navi few years ago through a friend and have always stayed up on their endeavors. If you haven't heard any of their previous work, check out a few of my favs which include #Inseparable, #DanceTonight, and #ATL. Keep an eye out for their self-titled debut album coming soon. Find out why you're going to want to stay below.

Wash ft. French Montana - Can't Trust Thots

Never trust a thot..that's what Texas singer Wash is telling us. The Interscope signee capitalizes on the popular term THOT (that hoe over there) and turns it into a fun, uptempo, party anthem. The chorus is very catchy and the start of both verses almost sound like they interpret the melody of TLC's #NoScrubs (which is clever). French Montana comes in and out with a couple verses and signature adlibs over the Maejor produced cut. Hear Wash's testament below.

Dawn Richard - Physical

This is one physical I'm excited for. Singer/Songwriter Dawn Richard, formerly of girl group Danity Kane, gears up for her solo sophomore outing with the release of new single "Physical" off of her upcoming album, #Blackheart. On the 80's inspired dance jam, Dawn gives us minimal, but memorable lines such as Let's be careless and vibe, yeah. The track embodies a multitude of sounds that effectively create a mental visual. I love that as an independent artist, she experiments and pushes the envelope, especially within her videos.  #Blackheart goes on sale January 15th. Go back in time below.

Album: Candice Pillay - The Mood Kill

You gon' let me f*ck without f*ckin' your self esteem up? Beautiful singer Candice Pillay gets down and dirty on her new album "The Mood Kill". Helmed almost entirely by herself and producers, Dem Jointz, the sounds on this project shift from gritty to vulnerable to cocky to sexy in an effortless manner. Signed to hit producer Alex Da Kid (Eminem, Rihanna), the sassy siren flirts with various genres as heard on the dubstep influenced #Doggystyle (I love the screwed rap at the end), and the romantic, bass heavy #Rome&Julie. My favorite record would have to be #Animal. It has such a sinister, evil, movie score feel, with tight harmonies, and the sexiest delivery. I appreciate the risks taken on this album and can't wait to see the accompanying videos. Kill your mood in a good way below.

Lil Twist ft. Justin Bieber - Intertwine

The Biebs resurfaces (not that he's ever really out of the spotlight) on his best pal's new song, "Intertwine". Young Money rapper Lil Twist has had many a false start commercially, but has remained in the headlines for various other reasons. He looks to shift the focus back onto his music with his latest track, which sees the youngster poppin' Molly with a special someone who he wants to get closer to. Justin serenades the ladies in a low tone with hook duties on the bass heavy R&B number. "Intertwine" can be found on Twizzy's upcoming mixtape #TheGoldenChild2, dropping later this month.Let these heart throbs get a hold of you below.

Video: Trackwide - Livin'

San Diego, CA rap duo Trackwide set out to show the world how they get down in the autobiographical clip, "Livin". The twosome, consisting of Mischif and Deuce ill, go in about their day to day life experiences, as well as dreams and aspirations, which makes for an honest and humbling listen, compared to a lot of frontin' going on in the Hip Hop community today. As a sexy female lures Mischif into a motel room, Deuce is already inside, intoxicated with friends, ready to show us how they party. Produced by Abjo, "Livin" is pulled from Trackwide's upcoming debut album #GAS. Watch below.

The Dream ft. TI - That's My Shit

One of my biggest musical inspirations is back with a new single. Singer/Songwriter The Dream debuts the T.I. assisted track "That's My Shit" off of his upcoming album #CrownJewel. Over a snappy, lighthearted beat, Dream tells another dude that although he may be hanging out with a girl, that girl doesn't belong to him...That's HIS sh*t. We've been places that you'll never ever ever go. The self-proclaimed Radio Killa sure is confident and has no problem throwing it in your face. Signature synths emerge as the instrumental builds, while TI swoops in with a cocky verse. All in all, if you're a fan of The Dream (especially his earlier work), you'll love this catchy song. I'm sure he'll have everybody WILDIN' OUT by the summertime.

Telana ft. Overdoz - Everything

First Pia Mia, then Justine Skye, now Telana...Kylie Jenner must have a knack for discovering talent, as she has introduced us to another one of her musically inclined friends. The talented Telana teams up with Westcoast rappers Overdoz on the self-proclaimed new age soul number "Everything". On the Cam produced nod to Teena Marie and Nate Dog, Telana wants us to know that she knows who she is, and excepts herself flaws and all. The G Funk, feel good track could have easily been a backyard bbq jam in the 90s. Get into a groove below.

SJ3 - Let's Go Somewhere

2015 looks like it's shaping up to be the year of the groups. Under the allegiance of J.Prince (discovered Drake) and his imprint YEMG, male trio SJ3 are making an outing, hoping to bring back that feeling of pandemonium that many groups before them have created. Tone, Desmond, and K.T. lets the ladies know what they can provide, that other guys possibly can't on the sexy midtempo "Let's Go Somewhere". I first came across Tone's instagram videos of him singing (you can hear his impressive runs towards the end of the track), which led me to investigate further. In the right hands, this South Jersey collective can be trailblazers in the Urban Pop world.

Rayvon Bent - More

Sometimes I wake up just to look for you, only to find me next to someone new..Candles and passionate love making on a cold, rainy night would sound like this.In the sexy ballad "More", newcomer Rayvon Bent sings his way into a girl's pants, more so wanting to capture her heart. It's refreshing to hear a GOOD,pure R&B song in this day from a male artist; it's very reminiscent of early Avant. Listen to Rayvon's silky delivery below.

Video: Freddy Hefner - Chillawn

There's a young girl in LA grinding, trying to push her sound..her name is Freddy Hefner. The singer/rapper has had my attention for awhile now, starting with her jazzy, South Central, game spittin' midtempo #Downtown. Besides the fact that she's pretty, she's very relatable to the types of situations my generation goes through. In her documentary style video "Chillawn", she works a crowd and goes through the motions of her day to day. Freddy is known for her around the way girl charm, singing lines like, "I'm a Sagittarius, niggas wanna marry us, but it's hard for me to trust..". Watch her swing her pony from the studio to the stage.
